1972 07 18 Aylesbury This Boy. (Unconfirmed).

This Boy.

This is supposedly Bristol 27th August 1972. And that Bowie never played Aylesbury on this date.

Track Listing...
01-Intro/Hang Onto Yourself.
02-Queen Bitch.
03-John I'm Only Dancing.
04-The Supermen.
05-Ziggy Stardust.
06-Moonage Daydream.
07-Starman.
08-This Boy.
09-The Width Of A Circle.
10-I'm Waiting For The Man.
11-White Light White Heat.
12-Suffragette City.
13-Round And Round.

Rating out of 10: 5.

This has a slightly different set list, and includeds "the new single on RCA records and tapes".
The sound is listenable but there is much tape hiss all the way through and also a grating noise, which may well ruin it for you perfectionists!
Also includeds "Round and Round" as an encore and one of the few gigs to include "This Boy".

This tape has been around for years and nobody seems to have researched its real origins. It is definitly a mix of various sources or even locations, since the sound of the songs differs throughout the last 4 - 5 songs.Bowie played "This Boy" before, but - as the cover correctly claims - this one tape seems the only one to have a recorded version.
But thanx again,Cygnet!!!

Thank you so much for posting these excellent and historic concerts.
Even though the fidelity is not great here, the version here of "Width Of A Circle" is nice. You can here nice interplay with Bowie and Ronno's guitars, albeit a bit muffled. Some of the concerts here that have better fidelity, Boston Music Hall 1972, for example, the guitars are very thin in the mix, sadly. I prefer the Magic Theater concert from 8/20/72 for the balls of the guitars. Listen to Width Of A Circle from this concert, sounds like Jimi Hendrix Experience. Amazing. Though unfortunate that there are 2 splices in the recording (from 2 different concerts, perhaps?)
By the way, in the interest of completeness, do you have any of the Mott The Hoople concerts from 72 that Bowie guested on (on "Dudes" and "Honky Tonk Woman"), I believe there is a London one and a Philadelphia one.
Thanks,
Scott
